I brought a clear plastic baggie filled with all the broken piston, ring, connecting rod, and block parts I removed from the oil pan of my blown engine. Everyone was hovering over them, pointing and asking lots of questions. A member, Mike Sr. said, “yea, not many people bring something like that to a meeting”…what was real funny was a few minutes later the waitress came over and began looking real close at the bag and started asking “is this some precious metal or gold?” “is this valuable” she said. She was wondering why everyone was looking at it the way we were. I told her she had no idea how much that pile of metal was worth, but my wife could tell her…she said “it looks like junk to me” and I said, “funny that’s what my wife says.”
